Animal Communication: Hearing the Rhythm of Their Hearts

Many of us, from the very beginning, have been intuitively connected to the hearts of the beings who share the Earth with us. From our earliest conscious moments, we naturally sensed what the animals around us were feeling, experiencing, and needing. Yet as time passed, that innate awareness gradually faded into the background as society’s prevailing beliefs conditioned us to embrace more widely accepted ways of understanding the world—a world in which the thoughts, feelings, and inner lives of animals were often dismissed as outlandish or fanciful.

Yet, it is entirely possible to listen to the rhythm of their hearts—and to hear what their hearts are already saying.

As an animal communicator, I’ve taken the time to learn to listen once again. I’ve rekindled my natural capacity to meet animals heart to heart—to witness them for who they truly are and to engage in meaningful conversation with them.

I view animal communication as an innate human capacity—one rooted in intuition, empathy, and our ability to perceive the subtle, nonverbal ways animals share information. It is listening to animals with an open heart while learning to discern what they communicate without projecting our own thoughts, expectations, or interpretations onto the experience.

What I have learned from animals has been humbling. Their wisdom has opened my heart to the beauty and wonder of the universe we share.

I’ve learned that animals are complex and introspective, each with a unique personality and way of approaching life. When communicating with domestic animals, I often sense their perspective on their home, their daily routines, and the people they love. Again and again, I encounter a deep devotion to their human companions and a genuine desire to support their person through life’s ups and downs.

Animals are aware of their own physical needs and experiences. When experiencing discomfort or illness, they may express a desire for a particular food, a healing modality, a change to their sleeping area, or a place where they feel especially at peace. They may also communicate where in their body they are experiencing discomfort and describe what it feels like to them. While I neither diagnose nor treat illness, these conversations can offer meaningful insights that help an animal guardian better understand and support their companion’s well-being.

I have found animals to be profoundly spiritual beings. Whether through their quiet wisdom, curiosity, or compassion, many of them are consciously and deeply connected to the world around them. In my experience as an animal communicator, every animal I’ve spoken with possesses a remarkable capacity to give and receive love.

It is an uplifting occasion, a moment when our hearts open to see with greater clarity and hope as we recognize animals for the bright, beautiful, loving beings that they are. How wonderful to share our lives with them.

I’ll share an example of a particularly lovely communication I had with a very dear dog friend, Mimi. Of her home and her home life, Mimi said, “There’s an atmosphere in this home of all that is good. It’s been my work to oversee and hold safely this sacred home. When I rest, I am actively doing this work, interacting with the Souls here, touching them each with my love.”

Later, I confided in Mimi. I was in a troubled place, questioning my effectiveness as an animal communicator. Mimi responded, “Don’t believe you’re not communicating. You hear everything from us. You hear the rhythm of our hearts.”

The rhythm of their hearts.

Yes.

That feels true.

With Gratitude,

Leanne
