Biography
Leanne DeVane is an animal communicator, musician, educator, arts administrator, and developing horsewoman whose work bridges the worlds of music, music education, and interspecies connection.
Before dedicating herself fully to her animal communication practice, Leanne spent more than three decades serving her community through music education. Most recently, she was Director of Music Education for the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, where she led and expanded programs for students from PreK through 12th grade. Prior to that, she served for twelve years as Music Education Coordinator for Santa Fe Public Schools, helping shape accessible and inclusive music opportunities for youth across the district.
Leanne holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master’s degree in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. She also completed coursework in Educational Leadership at New Mexico Highlands University. Her teaching career includes work on the Navajo Reservation in Fort Defiance, Arizona, as well as eight years teaching elementary music and choir to underserved youth in Santa Fe.
Throughout her career, Leanne has received numerous awards and recognitions for her innovative and dedicated contributions to music education.
Now, after a lifetime of service rooted in creativity and connection, Leanne is fully embracing a calling that has been with her since childhood: communicating with and deeply listening to animals. For her, the threads of music, art, and the animal world are inseparable—each a pathway to understanding, harmony, and relationship across all forms of life.
